Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. Planning Divisions

Accounting and Finance

Performs functions for the corporate headquarters such as financial reporting, budget, tax, internal audit, and profit management. Also provides centralized support for Toyota's other North American manufacturing companies in areas like asset management and cost planning.

Corporate Affairs

Coordinates media, government and public relations as well as corporate philanthropy. Provides assistance with legal issues and review and supports manufacturing plants on issues relating to the environment.

Corporate Planning

Promotes and facilitates teamwork among Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America functional divisions and enhances inter-company coordination with the North American manufacturing companies.

Human Resources

Works to ensure the well-being and long-term security of all team members by providing efficient, effective, and consistent human resource management through programs, policies, and practices.

Information Systems

Provides Toyota's North American Manufacturing Companies with a competitive advantage through the innovative use of people, processes, and information technology on the manufacturing floor and in administrative functions.

Production Control

Plans all vehicle production* and logistics for Toyota's North American Manufacturing Companies as well as monitoring service and export parts, production, and quality; facilitates inter-company sales; and provides custom administration. Establishes benchmarks and improves productivity while receiving vehicle orders from Toyota Motor Sales; schedules and balances production for multiple models across our North American manufacturers. Plans, develops, and manages the logistics infrastructure for North American production parts transportation.

Production Engineering

Provides engineering services to North American production preparation systems while allowing the production of high quality products at the lowest possible cost. This includes production preparation for new car models, major and minor remodels, & other manufacturing projects, casting, machining, assembly of engine and axle components. Supports building construction and maintenance for NAMC plants through plant construction & facility engineering, coordinates cross-functional activities during the early stages of vehicle development and more.

Purchasing

Manages the purchasing of parts, materials, facilities, transportation, and service to support manufacturing of products that satisfy the customer completely. This includes the procurement of production parts, overall responsibility for supplier management and development. Oversees purchasing activities, procurement and supply base management for production materials, transportation, construction, equipment and other products; oversees production preparation (launch support), troubleshooting and technical support to suppliers.

Quality

Contribute to Top Quality Achievement of vehicles produced in North America. Responsibilities focus to two areas: 1) North American product field quality assurance and 2) North American manufacturing quality assurance. Key activities supporting Field Quality Assurance include analysis of field quality data, quick identification and solution to field quality issues, prevention occurrence of quality problems, and warranty claim management. Key activities supporting Manufacturing Quality Assurance include development and management of Quality System Requirements, Quality Policy and Procedure development and management, and quality assurance of the raw material that is used in Toyota North American vehicles.

Toyota Supplier Support Center (TSSC)

Assists North American manufacturing companies in improving their production systems through the application of the Toyota Production System (TPS). Through these activities, TSSC helps strengthen Toyota's overall image in North America.
