Nurturing a Sustainable Society

At Toyota we believe an auto company can also be a vehicle for change. An integral part of our environmental commitment is partnerships through philanthropy, industry, government, and business, including our dealers and suppliers. We appreciate the meaningful relationships we've developed and look forward to continuing to work together toward a mobile society in harmony with the environment.

PHILANTHROPY

We support environmental programs that educate and mobilize people to reduce their environmental footprint. Our signature program, TogetherGreen, is a $20 million, five-year alliance with Audubon to fund conservation projects, train environmental leaders, and offer environmental volunteer opportunities.

GOVERNMENT
Toyota worked with the Obama Administration, California officials, environmental groups and other automakers to harmonize fuel efficiency and greenhouse gas regulations. The 2009 landmark agreement on One National Program sets higher CAFÉ standards and new greenhouse gas reduction goals. This unified national program helps ensure that American consumers will have a choice of vehicles they want and need, as well as the fuel efficiency and low emissions they expect, without the potential confusion of multiple standards. Manufacturers gained simpler regulation as well as compliance flexibility. Please visit www.fueleconomy.gov for more information.

BUSINESS PARTNERS

We work closely with our business partners, including suppliers and dealers, providing guidance and support to help us all achieve our "cradle-to-grave" environmental goals. Under our Green Supplier Guidelines, we encourage our partners to work with us in exceeding environmental expectations and to participate in Toyota's environmental programs.
