Toyota Announces Diversity Scholarship
February 26, 2008 - Princeton, IN - Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana
(TMMI) announced Wednesday a donation for an annual diversity scholarship, valued
at $5,000, to be awarded to a University of Evansville student.
The diversity scholarship is a result of TMMI's strong commitment to diversity
and education. The scholarship was established in October to honor National
Diversity Month.
"Education is one of TMMI's key focus areas," said Kelly Dillon, manager of Public Affairs and Corporate Compliance. "We want to continue to provide opportunities in our communities and support an inclusive environment."
TMMI began production in Princeton in 1998. Today, TMMI employs about 4,600 team members from the Tri-State. Within the 4-million-square-foot automotive facility, team members produce the Tundra pickup truck, Sequoia sport utility vehicle and the Sienna minivan.
TMMI has donated more than $11 million since 1996 to the local community in
areas of youth and education, health and human services, diversity, environment,
civic and community and arts and culture.
