National Public Lands Day

This partnership, between the National Environmental Education & Training Foundation and Take Pride in America, attracts thousands of volunteers to nearly 1,300 work sites across all 50 states on the last Saturday of every September. For the past ten years, Toyota has been the title sponsor of this effort. More than 2,000 Toyota employees across the country volunteer to help build trails, plant trees and clear debris. This single event has been estimated to contribute $12 million annually to improvements in federal, state and local lands.

Additional accomplishments include:
500,000 pounds of trash removed
720 miles of trails maintained
100,000 pounds of invasive plants collected
Over 55,000 trees and shrubs planted
