A focus on brilliance: Quadrabeam headlights focus light from a single bulb into two individual lenses to help you see what’s ahead clearer than ever. When a vehicle travels through the air, it leaves a wake behind it that creates drag. By smoothly tapering Avalon’s tail section, its low-pressure wake zone was dramatically reduced.

Silent science

To help keep wind noise to an absolute minimum, every exterior detail was carefully considered. Like the size, shape and placement of sideview mirrors, windshield molding, door handles and even windshield wipers. The result was a substantial overall sound reduction, and an increase in driving enjoyment.

Touch-Screen

Setting course is as easy as pointing with the available voice-activated touch-screen DVD navigation system ¹⁰. Use the touch-screen controls to find your destination on the map, and a voice prompt guides your every turn. Need an ATM or gas station? Just ask, and the system will help find what you’re looking for and guide you to it.

NavTraffic™

Avalon’s available NavTraffic™ ¹¹ helps you avoid traffic jams before others even see them. Now you can get real-time traffic updates on accidents, traffic and construction—all displayed on the onboard navigation system in the center console.

Multi-Information Display

Find out all the data you need and still keep your eyes on the road. Avalon’s Multi-Information Display (MID) screen makes it easy to check trip data, outside temperature, distance to empty, mpg and average speed. Optitron gauges make sure everything is easy to read—day or night. On Limited models navigation information ¹⁰ is displayed.

eBin™

Keep technology in its place. Avalon’s standard eBin™ features a non-slip surface for your cell phone or MP3 device that’s lit and tilts toward front passengers. Plus it contains a wire management feature, two 12-volt power outlets, an auxiliary audio jack and a USB port ¹².

IntelliTouch™

Smart Key System

When you’re within a few feet of your Avalon with the Smart Key ¹³ fob in your pocket or purse, the interior lights will automatically turn on, the front doors and trunk can be opened with a touch of a handle, and once you’re inside, the engine can be started and stopped with the push of the start/stop button.

Rain-Sensing Wipers

While you can’t control the weather, this might be the next best thing. Avalon’s available rain-sensing wipers automatically adjust to match the amount of rain hitting the windshield and the speed of the car. Just set the wipers to “auto” and Avalon does the rest.

A smooth and powerful 3.5-Liter V6 powers Avalon, producing an impressive 268 hp and 248 lb.-ft. of torque. Rigid structure

We started with less to finish with more. We designed a lighter body with a drag coefficient of .28, reduced overall body weight and made the chassis more rigid. The only thing we added was attitude.

Hybrid Synergy Drive^®

Star Safety System™

Pre-Collision System

Do not rely exclusively on the Blind Spot Monitor to determine if a lane change is safe. Always look over your shoulder and use your turn signal before changing lanes. All the airbag (AB) systems are Supplemental Restraint Systems. All ABs (if installed) are designed to inflate only under certain conditions and in certain types of severe collisions: frontal and knee ABs typically inflate in frontal collisions; side and side curtain ABs in side collisions; Roll-Sensing Curtain ABs at a severe tilt degree, roll or lateral G-force. In all other accidents, the ABs will not inflate. To decrease the risk of injury from an inflating AB, always wear seatbelts, sit upright in the middle of the seat as far back as possible and do not lean against the door. Do not put objects in front of an AB or around the seatback. Do not use a rearward-facing child seat in any front passenger seat. The force of an inflating AB may cause serious injury or death. Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) is an electronic system designed to help the driver maintain vehicle control under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices.
