Seven airbags [1]
Sophisticated sensors form the nerve center of a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) that includes seven airbags: advanced airbags for the driver and front passenger, front and rear side curtain airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags for the driver and front passenger, and a driver knee airbag [1]. This system works with the 3-point front seatbelts with adjustable shoulder anchors and an energy-absorbing steering column. Simulations helped design front and rear crumple zones and side-impact door beams that are strategically placed in the passenger cabin.
