A trip to the Southwest is not complete without a visit to the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon.
Improved fuel economy is just one of the many breakthroughs in the 2013 Avalon. This year we’re introducing a hybrid model with an EPA-estimated combined mileage rating of 40 mpg.** So we’re taking a look at some great road trips you can take. First off, we travel the 615 miles from Aspen to the Grand Canyon. See the itinerary:
Aspen to Grand Junction – 128 miles
Make your first stop in Grand Junction, where you can take a stroll downtown among the nearly 100 outdoor sculptures that line the sidewalks. Or bite into some famously delicious almond toffee at Enstrom’s Candies. Or take a hike through a dinosaur quarry.
Grand Junction to Moab – 109 miles
Next up, Arches National Park. See this incredible collection of gravity-defying, naturally occurring, red-rock arches. Follow the scenic drive through the park, or stop along the way at one of the hiking trails.
Moab to Four Corners – 150 miles
Stand in four states, at the same time. Take a detour to the Four Corners Monument, and park yourself on spot where Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico all intersect.
Four Corners to Grand Canyon National Park – 228 miles
The last leg leads to the Grand Canyon National Park, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. A perfect ending for one amazing road trip.
