The Toyota Avalon XL last had a manufacturer update on 01/02/2008. For 2008 the Toyota Avalon is available in four trims--XL, XLS, Limited and Touring. Acknowledged by Toyota as the "flagship" of their passenger car line-up, the Avalon receives minor changes for the new model year. Vehicles receive a new six-speed automatic for better performance and updated brakes to improve stopping distance, while reducing pedal firmness. Updates to the exterior include a bolder design for the headlamps, front bumper and radiator grille, as well as new tinted tail lights. Remote keyless entry is standard and the Touring model now has 17-inch alloy wheels available. The interior sees such changes as a new dark wood grain trim and 8-way power passenger seat on XLS and Limited models. The Toyota Avalon XL was last redesigned in 2005; no information is currently available on upcoming changes.
