Joe Gibbs Racing, Motocross is a professional supercross and motocross racing team. Founded in 2006 by Coy Gibbs, son of NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame Coach and three-time Sprint Cup Champion team owner Joe Gibbs, the team debuted in 2008. Current primary sponsors are Toyota and Yamaha. Riders are Justin Brayton and Josh Grant.

Joe Gibbs is known for saying: “in professional sports you win with people.” Coy Gibbs knows that building a motocross team from the ground up is no easy task, and having the right people will make all the difference in the success of the effort. Understanding that success in NASCAR will not directly translate into success in motocross, Coy has hired a team with extensive backgrounds in the sport. Jeremy Albrecht manages the team, with Dean Baker handling the engine development. Jonny Oler takes care of suspension and Spencer Bloomer heads up the testing and settings-refinement duties. Patrick Barker provides the tuning duties for Justin Brayton, while Ben Schiermeyer wrenches for Josh Grant. The team is based in Huntersville, North Carolina.

Let’s Go Moto Tundra

Joe Gibbs Racing Motocross riders Justin Brayton and Josh Grant have teamed up with N-FAB Inc. to build the Let's Go Moto Tundra. Combining NASCAR gearhead know-how and a motocross edge will take this build to the limit. Ever seen one of those cool eight-foot NASCAR pit boxes? This—and more—will turn the Tundra into a rolling “pitlane.”

What’s planned for this #DreamBuild?

  • The ultimate trackside test vehicle for the JGRMX team
  • Eight-foot pit box-style construction for the bed
  • Data acquisition and video feeds
  • A spare engine, wheels and suspension to keep the test day going strong

Justin Brayton

Justin Brayton has been racing professionally for the past seven years. He began his motocross career in Arenacross at the age of 18, and quickly demonstrated his potential by becoming the Arenacross Series Rookie of the Year in the 2002-2003 season. In 2006, he secured a ride with a supercross team and competed in the Supercross Lites class. By 2009, Brayton began racing in the lites class and then by the end of the 2009 lites season, he moved into the 450 class for motocross. He progressed through the season and ended up seventh overall for the series. The highlight of his season was a moto WIN at Steel City. During this same season, he competed and won the Bercy Supercross and was crowned the “King of Bercy!”

In 2010, Brayton joined Joe Gibbs Racing, Motocross after the best year of his career with the victories in Steel City and Bercy, as well as winning the Genova Supercross in Italy and a silver medal at X Games 15 in Moto X. And he finished 12th overall in points for the Lucas Oil Motocross Championship.

For 2013, Brayton reunited with JGRMX and Yamaha finishing 8th in AMA Supercross and taking home the X Games Moto-X Gold medal this summer.

Josh Grant

Josh Grant’s rookie year came in 2004 when he rode his Amsoil Honda to tenth overall in the Motocross Lites series. Along the way, the eighteen-year-old racer earned three podium finishes. The following year was another consistent one, as he finished a solid eighth overall in the East Coast Lites Supercross series. His best finish of the series came at the physically grueling Daytona Supercross where he battled to the very last corner to earn second place. Grant would close out the year with a seventh overall in the Motocross Lites division, once again competing with the Amsoil Honda satellite team. The 2006 season established Grant as a definite title threat. He would again choose the East Coast Lites series as his battleground, and would finish a respectable third overall

The 2007 season marked Grant’s third year as a pro and he continued to show that he knew what it took to stay up front. Many expected a Supercross Lites title from Grant in 2008 and, although he was definitely a pre-season favorite, he got off to a slow start. However, once the season got going, Grant returned to his old self as he challenged front-runners Ryan Villopoto and teammate and eventual champion Trey Canard.

Grant won the 2009 AMA Supercross season opener in Anaheim, Calif. The win was his first in the premier division and the first supercross victory for the Muscle Milk/Toyota Team. On July 4, 2009, he won his first overall 450 Class motocross victory at the Buchanan, Mich. round of the series

During the 2010 motocross, Grant won a moto at Thunder Valley, but missed the last three races of the season due to an injury to his left shoulder. Earlier in the year, Grant was forced to sit out the Supercross season with an injury to his other shoulder.

Grant found himself on a new team once again in 2012, riding aboard a Kawasaki for Jeff Ward Racing. For the 2013 season, he reunites with JGRMX and former teammate, Justin Brayton.

KBM prepares a fleet of race-winning Toyota Camrys and Tundras out of its 77,000-square-foot facility in Mooresville, N.C. The facility’s state-of-the-art equipment and innovative green initiatives (currently pending LEED certification) make it unmatched among its peers.
