For new owners of Entune™ [5]-equipped Toyota vehicles, the troubleshooting section of this site will help you with targeted answers to specific questions you may have regarding using Entune™ [5].

Communication Errors

Entune™ apps and services do not work

Possible Issue

Resolution

Bluetooth® [3] is turned off on the multimedia system. Test for this condition.

Enable Bluetooth® [3] on the multimedia system.

Your phone and the multimedia system have not been paired, or you deleted the pairing information on either the phone or the multimedia system. Test for this condition.

Pair your phone to the multimedia system.

Your phone is paired but is not actively connected to the multimedia system. Test for this condition.

Activate your phone's Bluetooth® [3] connection.

When I start using Entune™, a window displays on the multimedia system asking for my name and password.

Do these steps on your phone:
  • Confirm the Entune™ app is running
  • Confirm "Connect to vehicle" is enabled
  • Connect the phone to the vehicle

Error message: "Online connection failed"
Error message: "Insufficient connectivity"

Possible Issue

Resolution

Your phone has a weak cell signal. AT&T iPhone® [6] users: Test for this condition.

As you drive to an area with a stronger cell signal, your phone will automatically communicate faster and the error will resolve.

Your phone is operating in "airplane mode".

Turn off "airplane mode".

Your phone is not in actively connected to the multimedia system using Bluetooth® [3]. Test for this condition.

Activate your phone's Bluetooth® [3] connection.

You (or someone else) moved the phone outside the vehicle.

Place the phone in the vehicle.

iPhone® [6]: the Entune™ mobile app is running in the background.

Switch the Entune™ app to the foreground. (make the Entune™ app the active app)

Error message: "No device connected for Internet. Would you like to configure one now?"

Possible Issue

Resolution

Your phone and the multimedia system have not been paired, or you deleted the pairing information on either the phone or the multimedia system. Test for this condition.

Pair your phone to the multimedia system.

Your phone is paired but is not actively connected to the multimedia system. Test for this condition.

Activate your phone's Bluetooth® [3] connection.

Error message: "To use the services, an active application needs to be running on your phone"

Possible Issue

Resolution

The Entune™ mobile app is not running on your phone.

Launch the Entune™ mobile app on your phone.

The mobile app is not communicating with the multimedia system. Test for this condition.

Touch Connect to vehicle on the Entune™ mobile app, options page.

iPhone® [6]: the Entune™ mobile app is running in the background.

Switch the Entune™ app to the foreground. (make the Entune app the active app)

You are not signed in to your Entune™ account.

Sign in to your Entune™ account using the mobile app.

Error message: "Apps connection dropped. Please try again"

Possible Issue

Resolution

The mobile app is not communicating with the multimedia system. Test for this condition.

Touch Connect to vehicle on the Entune™ mobile app, options page.

Your phone is not in actively connected to the multimedia system using Bluetooth® [3]. Test for this condition.

Activate your phone's Bluetooth® [3] connection.

You (or someone else) moved the phone outside the vehicle.

Place the phone in the vehicle.

Weather: My location search failed and the screen quickly flashed some sort of message.

You likely misspelled a location, or you searched for a place the app has no record of. Check your spelling and try again.
