Pairing your phone is quick and easy: We've provided two options for you to choose from, depending on your knowledge of your phone's Bluetooth® [3] options.
I've Never Paired a Phone
If you've never paired your phone before or used Bluetooth® [3] we'll walk you through the process step by step thanks to Toyota's new Connect website. You'll find detailed instructions on how to pair many phones with Toyota multimedia systems.

I've Paired a Phone to Other Vehicles/Devices
If you've paired your phone before or used Bluetooth® [3], basic pairing instructions are provided below to get you connected your new Toyota's multimedia system in no time.
For your safety, you can only pair a phone when the vehicle is stopped and in Park.
Note: "Press" refers to a physical button on your phone or touchscreen. Touch refers to a button, command or menu drawn on a display screen.
Pairing a Phone using Bluetooth® [3] *†
- Touch Setup on the faceplate
- Touch Bluetooth® [3] Setup
- Touch Search for Bluetooth® [3] Devices*† or Make This System Discoverable
- The system will begin searching for devices
- Touch Cancel if you wish to cancel the search
- Touch the device to be paired.
- A message will direct you to start the pairing process on your phone.
- Touch Accept to pair your smartphone to your vehicle
- A confirmation will appear that your phone has been paired
†Bluetooth® [3] directions vary between phones. If you do not know how to access your phone's Bluetooth® [3] options, please refer to your phone's Owner's Manual for instructions.
How Do I Connect to the Internet?
Once you've paired your phone, you're connected for phone and for audio streaming via Bluetooth® [3] wireless technology. To connect for Internet, which will allow you to use your phone’s data plan to access Entune™ [5] apps and data services, follow the procedure below after your phone is already paired with the multimedia system.
Two ways to connect Entune™
Wireless Connectivity
To use Entune, all Android™ and Blackberry® devices, connect wirelessly to all Entune-enabled multimedia systems.
Cabled Connection
Display Audio multimedia systems require all iPhones® [6] to be cabled to the USB port. This requirement allows the Display Audio Entune™ system to operate with full functionality and it also recharges all iPhones® [6]
If you are using an iPhone® [6], start here.
- Connect your iPhone® [6] to your vehicle using your iPhone® [6] USB cable (other cords such as cigarette lighter adapter cords will not work with Entune™, you must use the USB connection)
- Make sure your phone is turned on and paired with vehicle. For instructions on how to pair, visit the Toyota Connect site.
- Check the battery life on your phone. To maximize the capabilities of the phone, not Entune™, your phone must have a minimum of a 50% battery charge. If your phone's battery is below 50% please plug it into a power source before launching Entune™
- Launch Entune™ app on phone and sign in. Note: The first time you launch Entune™ on your phone, sign in by entering your email address and password you created when you registered at myentune.com. If you did not register your Entune™ account yet, please click here.
- Within the Entune™ app on your iPhone® [6], touch Options > Connect to Vehicle
- The app displays a lockout screen
- Your vehicle's screen displays a request to connect an Internet device
- On the vehicle screen, touch Yes to connect the iPhone® [6]
- A message displays stating the device is now connected for Internet services
- On the head unit, press APPS
- Entune™ displays the APPS main page
- The phone app displays a lockout screen with the Entune™ logo and a button to disconnect from Entune™.
Continue with "Reconnecting at a later time"
If you are using Android™, start here.
- Make sure your phone is turned on and paired with vehicle. For instructions on how to pair, visit the Toyota Connect site.
- Check the battery life on your phone. To maximize the capabilities of the phone, not Entune™, your phone must have a minimum of a 50% battery charge. If your phone's battery is below 50% please plug it into a power source before launching Entune™
- Ensure your phone is in "Listening Mode". This is essential for the phone to communicate with the multimedia system. Follow these instructions to put your phone in Listening mode:
- Launch Entune™ app on phone and sign in. Note: The first time you launch Entune™ on your phone, sign in by entering your email address and password you created when you registered at myentune.com. If you did not register your Entune™ account yet, please click here.
- Press Menu key on phone
- If you see the word “Disconnect” then you are in Listening mode
- If you see the words "Connect to Vehicle", then touch "Connect to Vehicle" to activate Listening mode. The word "Disconnect" will now be visible
- Push APPS on head unit
- On the head unit, select any app
- Touch Confirm on safety screen
- Touch Yes to connect to Internet
- Touch the button representing your Android™
- Touch Connect for Internet
- Please read the roaming warning screen and touch Continue [5] when ready
- Please read the Data Plan warning screen and touch Continue [5] when ready
- Touch the button representing your wireless carrier
- On the head unit, press APPS
- Entune™ displays the APPS main page
If you are using BlackBerry® start here.
- Make sure your phone is turned on and paired with vehicle. For instructions on how to pair, visit the Toyota Connect site.
- Check the battery life on your phone. To maximize the capabilities of the phone, not Entune™, your phone must have a minimum of a 50% battery charge. If your phone's battery is below 50% please plug it into a power source before launching Entune™
- Ensure your phone is in "Listening Mode". This is essential for the phone to communicate with the multimedia system. Follow these instructions to put your phone in Listening mode:
- Launch Entune™ app on your BlackBerry®. Note: The first time you launch Entune™ on your phone, sign in by entering your email address and password you created when you registered at myentune.com. If you did not register your Entune™ account yet, please click here.
- Press Menu key
- Touch Options
- Make sure "Connect to Vehicle" is grayed out
- If "Connect to Vehicle" is black, touch to turn on and it will turn gray
- On your BlackBerry®,
- If you have a touchscreen choose Options > Connect to Vehicle
- If you have hard buttons, press the Menu (BlackBerry® logo) button
- The next steps take place on your vehicle’s multimedia screen
- Push APPS on head unit
- From the main apps page, touch any app to launch it
- Screen will read: "No Device Connected for Internet. Would you like to configure one now?" Touch YES
- Touch the button representing your BlackBerry®
- Touch Connect for Internet
- If a message appears about disconnecting another device, touch Yes
- Touch the button representing your wireless carrier
- On the head unit, press APPS
- Entune™ displays the APPS main page
Continue with "Reconnecting at a later time"
Reconnecting at a later time
Once your phone has been paired, it will automatically connect whenever the ENGINE START STOP switch is in ACCESSORY or IGNITION ON mode.
iPhone® [6]
On subsequent restarts of the vehicle, the vehicle will automatically detect an "Internet Device" and ask the user to resume services. Touch Yes. The multimedia system will return to the “Audio Off” screen. Press APPS to display the apps main screen. If a “data plan cost” warning message appears, touch Continue [5]. You will see a confirmation screen of successful connection.
If you have problems, ensure your phone is in “Listening Mode”. This is essential for the phone to communicate with the multimedia system. Follow these instructions to put your phone in Listening mode:
- Launch Entune™ app on phone
- Touch "set up icon" bottom right corner of screen
- Make sure “Connect to Vehicle” is grayed out
- If "Connect to Vehicle" is black, touch to turn on and it will turn gray
Android™
To resume Internet services the next time your phone is communicating with the vehicle, press APPS to go main page on the multimedia system and select any app. If a “data plan cost” warning message appears, touch Continue [5].
If you have problems, ensure your phone is in “Listening Mode”. This is essential for the phone to communicate with the multimedia system. Follow these instructions to put your phone in Listening mode:
- Launch Entune™ app on phone
- Press Menu key on phone
- If you see the word “Disconnect” then you are in Listening mode
- If you see the words “Connect to Vehicle” , then touch "Connect to Vehicle" to activate Listening mode. The word “Disconnect” will now be visible
BlackBerry®
To resume Internet services the next time your phone is communicating with the vehicle, press APPS to go main page on the multimedia system and select any app. If a “data plan cost” warning message appears, touch Continue [5].
