Water efficiency is a key aspect of Real Estate & Facilities’ (RE&F) Process Green, as TMS seeks to do its part to preserve this nonrenewable resource that is quickly being depleted throughout the world.

By using drought tolerant plants on the TMS campus, such as a California Sycamore, RE&F has reduced water use by up to fifty percent. In fact, one low-water consuming plant can save up to 550 gallons of water each year. At Toyota Logistics Services’ Port of Portland Vehicle Distribution Center, potable water usage is reduced by 75% through harvesting rainwater and using water efficient fixtures. Additionally, low-flow faucets reduce water consumption to 2.5 gallons per minute versus 6 gallons per minute.
