Submitted By: Joseph W J. -- Easton, PA
I have a 2002 Prius with 56,000 miles on it, have had no problems and have the following sign in my back window: This is a Toyota Hybrid Prius, it gets 53 mpg and is 80% less polluting than the car you came here in.

Prius -- A Cool Car for a Teenager
Submitted By: Karen E. -- North Ridgeville, OH
We purchased our Prius in 2001 and just fell in love with our little green machine (both in color as well as low emissions). In 2004, our son turned 16 and got his driver’s license. My husband and I ended up carpooling in our minivan to work and our son drove the Prius to school. He wasn’t too excited about that prospect at first. Not exactly the cool, sleek sports car so many teenage boys dream about. A few weeks after school started, we asked him how he felt about driving the Prius, and did he want to switch and take a turn driving the minivan instead? His answer was an emphatic “NO WAY!” He said the kids at the high school are saying he is driving absolutely the COOLEST car in the whole parking lot. They especially think it is totally awesome when he drives slowly on only the electric motor and you can only hear the sound of the wheels on the asphalt. “Stealth Mode” they call it. And with the high gas prices and a teenager’s limited budget, he is thrilled that just 10 gallons of gas will get him well over 500 miles of driving. Our 2001 Prius is One Very Cool Car!

Toyota Prius -- the Perfect Tent
Submitted By: Bernie F. -- Eden Prairie, MN
After a few detours and a late start, we finally reached our destination -- beautiful Crosby Manitou State Park in Minnesota. We were looking forward to some great hikes and beautiful views of Lake Superior. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans -- it was gray, foggy and rainy. All the camp sites are remote, and we cringed at the thought of packing in our gear and setting up our tent in the rain. So we decided to sleep in the back of the Prius. We put the back seats down, stacked up our gear in the space behind the front seats, spread out our camping mats and got into our sleeping bags. We cracked open one of the back windows and covered it with a raincoat for ventilation. The Prius was a perfect fit! It was great for sleeping...We got up refreshed for a beautiful day of hiking. We love our Prius!
