Dr. Joel D. Stitzel, Ph.D., is an associate professor of biomedical engineering at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He works closely with Virginia Tech on biomedical engineering and sciences, injury biomechanics and crash injury research. He is the program leader of the Global Human Body Models Consortium Integration Center, the lead center on a mission to create the global industry-standard model of the human body for trauma prediction. His efforts focus on the prediction and prevention of injury in a variety of scenarios including automotive, sports and military applications.
