TOYOTA NASCAR Craftsman Truck Texas Qualifying ResultsTODD BODINE, No. 30 Lumber Liquidators Tundra, Germain Racing
Starting: 1st Qualifying Lap: 29.709 (181.763 mph)
How do you think your truck will race Friday night?
"We unloaded good and just made minor adjustments all through practice, just tuning on it. I think it will be pretty good for the race. We were really good on old tires during practice and obviously our starting spot for the race tomorrow is good, so we'll have to see. Hopefully, we can put ourselves in a situation near the end of the race where we can compete for the win."
Can you repeat the victory you had at Texas last year?
"I hope we can go out there and get the win tomorrow. Last year, we struggled at the beginning of the race and went a lap down. We continued to work on the truck throughout the race, caught a couple of breaks and were able to get the win. I think we have a better package this weekend than we had last year, and I think it will race pretty good."
MIKE SKINNER, No. 5 Toyota Tundra, Bill Davis Racing
Starting: 2nd Qualifying Lap: 29.790 (181.269 mph)
How is your truck going to run tomorrow night?
"We've been struggling all day with fuel pressure problems. The Toyota guys have been working their tails off trying everything to get it fixed. Todd really has had the best truck all day, but we thought we could cut a quick lap and get him. Our Tundra is not the cream of the crop, but hopefully it's a top-10 truck."
How does the team feel heading into Texas?
"We really love coming to Texas. I just think we need to have things fall into place tomorrow to get the win. (Crew chief) Jeff Hensley has done a great job all year making calls on the box. If a Bill Davis Racing truck couldn't be on the pole, Todd is the perfect person for it."
JOHNNY BENSON, No. 23 360 OTC Tundra, Bill Davis Racing
Starting: 4th Qualifying Lap: 29.867 (180.802 mph)
How do you think your truck will work in the race?
"The team brought a pretty good truck here. We've been making gains all year and continue to get better, so maybe things will come together tomorrow. We unloaded pretty fast and just kept working on it practice to get a little bit more speed out of it. We had a pretty bad qualifying draw that put us out on a hot, slick track. But, we were able to lay down a pretty good lap and will start near the front tomorrow for the race."
AARON FIKE, No. 1 Toyota Tundra, Red Horse Racing
Starting: 5th Qualifying Lap: 29.867 (180.802 mph)
How will the changing track conditions affect the truck tomorrow night?
"The wind really moves the truck around out there. You can feel the big gusts, and hopefully guys can keep it clean out there tomorrow. The track was so hot during practice and during our qualifying run, but tomorrow night should be a whole different ballgame. The track will cool down a little bit and I think our truck will really come to us. I'm looking forward to getting out there in front of the fans and put on a good show."
