NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series

• Todd Bodine scored his second victory of the season in Saturday's Mountain Dew 250 at Talladega Superspeedway in the No. 30 Lumber Liquidators Tundra for Germain Racing. He also won from the pole at Texas Motor Speedway in June. Bodine's pole was the 14th of the season for Toyota.
• Johnny Benson (third) and Jason Leffler (fourth) also scored top-five finishes for Toyota.
• Tundra drivers Mike Skinner (13th), Mike Wallace (17th), Josh Wise (23rd), Ted Musgrave (25th), Jack Sprague (27th), Terry Cook (28th) and Jacques Villeneuve (30th) were also in Saturday's field.
• Bodine's victory is the 10th of the season for Toyota. Tundras have now won 35 of 95 races since joining the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at the beginning of the 2004 season.
• Tundra drivers who have won races in 2007 include Mike Skinner (California, Atlanta, Martinsville and Kentucky), Johnny Benson (Milwaukee, Bristol and Gateway), Todd Bodine (Texas and Talladega) and Jack Sprague (Daytona).
• This October, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. is celebrating its 50th year of doing business in the United States. Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. was formed October 31, 1957, establishing its headquarters in a former Rambler dealership in Hollywood, Calif. Sales began in 1958 and totaled a modest 288 vehicles that first year -- 287 Toyopet Crown sedans and one Land Cruiser.

Can you talk about your race today?
"I can't believe it. I have run so many races here and have been in the same situation in the end and never got it done. I always got shuffled out or something happened. We just had a great truck. To win the pole and to win the race shows how great these guys on the team are. I'm the lucky guy that drives it. Rick (Crawford) had a good truck. I didn't know when he was going to make the move, but when he did, he just didn't have anybody to go with him."

How good was your truck?
"Our truck was fast, we were fortunate to be in front of all the wrecks and got lucky on a couple of moves. Things just went our way. At the end, I knew Rick was going to try somewhere, and he waited to the front. He just came up a little short. I'm glad to come out on top for a change. I've always run well at superspeedways, I've just never quite got it done. I finally got it done, and that's probably the best thing."

How close was the finish from your standpoint?
"It was a pretty close finish. I knew Rick was out there, but I couldn't see his hood, so I knew we won. This is just Talladega. It lends itself to great finishes. Where the start-finish line is and the way the track is. The trucks punch such a big hole in the air that you can wait a long time to make a move and get by a guy. In fact, you're better off timing it just right to make the move. Rick timed it just a little too late. Talladega is a great place to race and a great show for the fans."

How hard is it to repeat as a champion in the Craftsman Truck Series?
"The second championship is harder than the first one. You don't do anything different. You try to stay in the same track and do the same things that got you success the year before. At the same time, you have to learn and progress to make your team better, or you get behind. It's a real catch-22 to repeat as champion. You can't do the same things that got you there, but you have to try to keep your success going."

Can you talk about your race today?
"As things got rolling, things were pretty good. My only concern was when Jack (Sprague) had his problems. I ran into him pretty hard and knocked my grill out. We tried to stay out, but got lucky that a caution came out. We needed to fix it. By fixing it, it allowed us to get back to the front with an opportunity to win the race."

How concerned were you following Jack Sprague when his truck was smoking?
"At first, the smoke came out pretty bad and I thought he was blowing up and I pulled out. I didn't want to pull out -- I wanted to stay with him but I thought he was breaking. It came out pretty sudden so I got out of the way, but he kept going. I knew it was going to be short-lived. I pushed him back up to the front and then he broke. I couldn't do anything because I had a guy beside me."

How similar was this race to the season-opener at Daytona?
"In Daytona, I had to push Jack by somebody to win. This time, I wasn't trying to help Rick win because I need to help the Toyota win. The minute I cut across and got a good run I tried to get him there on the inside. It was a heck of a race for the fans."

How was your first NCTS race since 2004?
"The first lap there, someone got out of shape and I thought I was going to wreck Ted Musgrave and that the guy behind me was going to wreck me. But the guys at Red Horse Racing gave me a great truck. I've got to thank (team owners) Tom DeLoach and Jeff Hammond, (crew chief) Jamie Jones, Toyota and everybody on this race team. It's a pleasure to drive. Our Toyota Tundra was really fast. I'm looking forward to going to Martinsville; hopefully we'll get us a win there."

How hard was it to get a run after the final caution?
"I was trying to take advantage of it, but just couldn't get a good enough run there. It was good coming down to the line. It was great racing with these guys. Nobody crashed coming to the checkers. Everybody raced hard and beat up on each other but where I was at there was no crashing or anything. It was a fun day."
