TOYOTA NASCAR Nextel Cup Series
Post-Qualifying Notes & Quotes

DAVID REUTIMANN, No. 00 Burger King Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing
Starting Position: 20th
How was your qualifying run?
"It was a good lap -- both laps it was good. We needed to be tighter and the first lap it was too tight to be real, real fast. The second lap the tires came in and it drove good. We probably should have run a little quicker than that. We've been fighting center-off all day and it was really good there -- it was really good everywhere. I was just pretty conservative on the first lap. It's been best on the second lap anyway. I just tried to get some heat in the tires and some heat in the brakes and not do anything stupid. Frankie (Kerr, crew chief) and the guys told me we just had to back-up what we ran in practice and we'd be okay. I'm bad about overdriving it anyway, so I tried to be a little conservative. It worked out."
AJ ALLMENDINGER, No. 84 Red Bull Toyota Camry, Team Red Bull
Starting Position: 39th
How was your qualifying run?
"That's a great effort by everybody. We're still a bit off on these cars. It seems like we get them sometimes, and other times we're off. The first lap felt good, and the second lap I felt like I got through turns one and two really good -- and it just gave out from under me. I wrecked about three times, but didn't hit anything."
Does running the Craftsman Truck Series race this weekend help?
"That helps, although the car and the truck are different. I seem to be able to get in the truck and calm down. Getting into the truck lets me calm down and take my mind away from the car. Whether it helps me or not learn anything about the track, I'm not sure. It just lets me take a breather and regroup."
Does finishing the past two races give you confidence?
"That's something - to be able to finish a race. We just have to keep improving. This is a big test. If we can get through this race -- we can get through anything from here. I'm terrible at this track. This place has me for a loop."
Why does this track throw you for a loop?
"I don't think we have a great set-up here and I struggle to find the right line around this place. It doesn't look like that hard of a place. But, you get on it and the banking -- although it's gradual -- it's a big deal."
BRIAN VICKERS, No. 83 Red Bull Toyota Camry, Team Red Bull
Starting Position: 42nd
How was your qualifying run?
"It wasn't as good as we wanted or we needed, but it was enough. The car was just spinning the rear tires off -- having a hard time getting traction. That's one thing we fought the whole practice. We were way off the beginning of practice. We made some gains during practice, but we never could get the car the way we wanted."
