Biography

Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman will take a shot to join the exclusive list of celebrity winners this year at the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race.

As a professional athlete, Lieberman acheived several colorful milestones. She was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a player in 1996, and in 1999 was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, the NYC Basketball Hall of Fame and the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame. Lieberman is also a two-time Olympian and three-time All-American.

Lieberman serves as a full time analyst for ESPN, and is also involved in motivational speaking engagements and philanthropic endeavors.

Highlights:

• Recognized as the only woman to play in an all-male league
• Came out of retirement to play for the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury (1997)
• Accomplished author, with titles that include “Basketball for Women” and “Lady Magic”
