After building and sponsoring his first car, Tran began his drag racing career in 1997. Since entering the sport, Tran has become one of the crowd favorites and most popular drivers in NHRA Sport Compact and NOPI series. With one second place finish in the 2006 season, he finished fourth in the final point standings. Tran will begin the 2007 NHRA season with a best elapsed time of 8.16 seconds and a top speed of 181.96 mph (Englishtown, N.J., 2005).
