Toyota Corollas are now rolling off the line in Blue Springs, Mississippi, the home of our 10th and newest U.S. plant.* Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Mississippi (TMMMS) will employ 2000 team members in 2012** and has the annual capacity to produce 150,000 vehicles a year.** Joining the opening celebration were Toyota Motor Corporation President Akio Toyoda and Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour.
TMMMS represents an $800 million investment in the state of Mississippi — and reflects our continued commitment to design, develop and build our vehicles where they are sold.* Located just outside of Tupelo, our 10th and newest U.S. manufacturing plant is spread over 1700 acres. For trivia buffs, that’s about the size of 45 football fields.
TMMMS is a zero-landfill facility, making the green earth and open sky of Blue Springs an ideal home. We appreciate the warm welcome we’ve received from everyone in Mississippi, and look forward to being a part of the community.
*Toyota vehicles and components are built using U.S. and globally sourced parts. **Figures are projected.
