Toyota sent four sponsored Engines of Change swimmers to compete in Beijing and the athletes are coming home with a combined 8 Olympic Medals!
Toyota's Athletes were led by Women's swim team captain, 41-year old Dara Torres. Torres demonstrated what it means to be an Engine of Change when she became the first swimmer to compete in Five Olympic Games. Torres won Three Silver medals in Beijing increasing her overall medal count to a record twelve. Champion backstroker Aaron Piersol earned two Gold and one Silver medal while Men’s swim team captain Brendan Hansen earned Gold in the Medley Relay. Cullen Jones, the second African American Swimmer to make the US Olympic team and the first to win a gold medal was an integral part of the epic men’s 4 x 100 Freestyle Relay.
