I'm looking forward to racing with all these guys. This is a great group of drivers, and a lot of friends. There are a lot of real heroes. I don't know how many Indy 500s are represented here, Grand Prix victories and sports cars?you know, Vic Elford was always a hero of mine when I was growing up in the late '60s and early 70s and to be with him is just great. Not quite a contemporary but almost, Mr. Derek Bell - we raced against each other quite often. So it's a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to the race.
The cars are pretty good. They handle pretty well, the brakes are quite good. You have to be so smooth and so careful with it?it's so easy to get into a corner and lose the car, you end up wasting so much time just trying to get the thing back. Like anything, there's an art to it. It's fun and it's challenging.
About a year ago I was at Goodwood in England for the Festival; now that I think about it, I was at the historic Grand Prix race in Las Vegas earlier this year. That would be the last time I raced. It's just always fun to get out and thrash around.
Hopefully I'll win. But doesn't everybody think that?
