Using Bluetooth®/Streaming

The audio system enables users to enjoy audio played on a Bluetooth®-compatible portable player or smartphone from the vehicle’s speakers via wireless communication.

Note: "Press" refers to a physical button on your phone or the multimedia system faceplate. "Touch" refers to a button, command or menu drawn on the display touch-screen.

  1. Touch the Audio Display section in the bottom right-hand corner of the touch-screen to display the audio control screen
    1. If audio is turned on, touch Source to display the Select Audio Source screen
    2. If audio is turned off, the Select Audio Source will automatically appear
  2. Touch Bluetooth® audio icon (If a Bluetooth® audio device is not connected, connecting Bluetooth® audio screen will automatically appear. Click here to learn how to connect a Bluetooth® device.
  3. If the Bluetooth®-capable audio device is paired and connected, audio will begin playing automatically
  4. With Bluetooth®& audio, no cable needs to be connected
  5. Touch Connect if no device is connected to play
  6. Select the Bluetooth® device to play from and then select Connect or Connect as an Audio Player to start using that device
  7. Bluetooth® will connect, and music will begin playing
  8. Touch || to pause the track
  9. Touch > to resume playing the track
  1. Press and release the >> /<< button to move forward or back to the next track

Compatible Music File Formats

Compatible Music File Formats

Display Audio with Navigation and Entune® will play MP3 and MP4 formats, while Premium HDD Navigation with Entune® will play MP3 and WMA file formats. Entune Audio, Entune Audio Plus systems, Entune Premium Audio, Entune Premium JBL® Audio, Entune Premium Audio with 11.6-in. HD Multimedia Display, and Entune Premium JBL® Audio with 11.6-in. HD Multimedia Display will play MP3 and WMA file formats.


Pairing a Bluetooth® Device/Press Home Button

Pairing a Bluetooth® Device

Note: "Press" refers to a physical button on your phone or the multimedia system faceplate. "Touch" refers to a button, command or menu drawn on the display touch-screen.

  1. Press HOME button
  2. Press the Gear/Screw icon on the top right of your home screen (For models equipped with Entune Audio Plus systems, Entune Premium Audio with Navigation and App Suite, or Entune Premium JBL® Audio with Navigation and App Suite, press the APPS button followed by the "Setup" button on the display screen)
  3. Touch "Bluetooth" on the display screen
  4. Touch "Add" on the display screen
  5. Go to your phone and access Bluetooth® settings and search for new device to pair
  6. On the phone, the vehicle will show up as a Bluetooth® connection as either "Car Multimedia" or the car's name (e.g., "Corolla")
  7. Touch the vehicle on the list of devices on your phone to pair
  8. Confirm the PIN. Touch "OK" or "Pair."

Once you have connected the Bluetooth® device, it is automatically connected whenever the engine switch is in the "ACC" or "ON" position. (Note: Phone Bluetooth® must be turned on)


Siri® Eyes Free

Siri® Eyes Free

Siri® Eyes Free is a voice recognition feature that will allow you to perform Siri® commands in the vehicle if you have a compatible iPhone®. Your iPhone® must be paired via Bluetooth® to use Siri® Eyes Free. To activate Siri® Eyes Free in the vehicle, press and hold the phone off-hook button on the steering wheel. After the beep, make a request to Siri® via voice. Responses will be played back via the vehicle’s audio system. No information will be shown on the vehicle’s display touch-screen.

Initiate a Siri® Command

  1. Press and hold phone off-hook button on the steering wheel. The display screen will show the Mobile Assistant screen, which has a microphone icon on it. This lets you know Siri® Eyes Free has been activated.
  2. After beep, say a command such as “Play music,” “Send text message to Bill” and so on
  3. The voice recognition system will perform the task, and responses will be read back via the vehicle’s audio system. Siri® will prompt you to provide additional voice commands if more information is needed to complete task.

Which Bluetooth®-enabled phones are compatible with Entune

If my Bluetooth®-enabled phone is not currently listed, when will it be tested?

What is hands-free calling?

Your multimedia system features hands-free calling, which allows you to send and receive phone calls without using your handset. In addition, Toyota's Voice Recognition System allows you to make those calls by pressing a button on the steering wheel, so you can keep your eyes on the road. Before you use hands-free calling, your phone must be paired. If it is not, please go to Pair a Phone to find out how to connect to Bluetooth® services.
