Entune Quick-Start Guide

Check phone compatibility

Entune will work with most Android and iPhone® smartphones. Simply select your model and audio system below to view the compatibility and Bluetooth® pairing guide.

Pair your phone with your Toyota

Pairing your phone is the first step in connecting with your Toyota for hands-free calling and audio streaming via Bluetooth®. The pairing process is quick and easy: Most smartphones have Bluetooth® integration; all you have to do is set up the phone and multimedia system to “talk” to each other and form a connection. This Bluetooth® pairing guide is available for select 2014 and 2015 models and all 2016 models except Yaris.

1. Turn ON Bluetooth® on your smartphone

  • Access your smartphone's SETTINGS.
  • Select BLUETOOTH and ensure that it is turned on. Your phone will seek out Bluetooth® devices while remaining discoverable.
Accessing Bluetooth® may vary based on your device. For more detailed instructions, please visit www.toyota.com/connect.

2. Initiate Bluetooth® on your Entune multimedia system

  • While your smartphone is seeking out Bluetooth® devices, proceed to your Entune multimedia system on your Toyota vehicle.
  • Select SETUP button on your home screen.
  • Select BLUETOOTH
  • Select ADD to add your smartphone.

3. Add your Toyota to your smartphone

  • Back on your smartphone, you can now select your TOYOTA VEHICLE in Bluetooth® Settings.
  • Tip: You may need to enter the provided Bluetooth® PIN on your smartphone.

  • Your Entune multimedia system will confirm that your smartphone is now paired with Entune.

Set up Scout GPS® Link App in your vehicle

Scout® GPS Link App provides turn-by-turn directions on the vehicle's touch-screen display, along with audio guidance, for 2016 Toyota models equipped with Entune Audio Plus systems. To access Scout® GPS Link App on your Entune system, you will need a compatible iPhone® or Android smartphone that is connected to the Entune system via Bluetooth®. The Scout® GPS Link App must be running on your smartphone. This app utilizes your smartphone’s data plan.

To use Scout® GPS Link App on your Entune system, the app needs to be loaded on both your smartphone and the Entune system. Follow the directions below to set up Scout® GPS Link App in your vehicle.

1. Connect your smartphone to your vehicle's Entune system via Bluetooth

If you need help in pairing your smartphone via Bluetooth®, follow the instructions on this link.

2. Download the Scout® GPS Link App from the Apple® App StoreSM (iPhone®) or Google Play App Store (Android) to your smartphone.

Open the Scout® GPS Link App on your smartphone.

3. On your smartphone, touch Let's get started! to begin.

(If you are already a registered Scout® user, select I am already a member to sign in and initialize the app.)

4. Create a Scout® account (optional) or touch Skip to initialize the app.

5. One of these screens or the map screen will appear on your smartphone when the app has been successfully initialized.

(You must allow the app to access your location to use Scout® GPS Link App on your smartphone or in the vehicle.)

6. After initializing the app on your smartphone, the vehicle touch-screen display will prompt you to update your Entune system. Touch Now to begin.

(Once the update begins, you can select Download in Background to use other Entune functions.)

7. After update completes, you will need to install the update. Touch Install to complete the installation to your Entune system.

After the installation is complete, the Scout® GPS button will appear on the APPS screen and will be ready to use.

Get Started with Voice Recognition

Your Entune system has several tools to make using voice recognition easier in your vehicle.

1. Did you know Entune is equipped with a Train Voice Recognition feature that calibrates the system's recognition capabilities to your own voice?

By using Train Voice Recognition, you will be prompted to speak ten different commands. Entune will record how you say certain words and numbers to adjust the voice recognition system to increase recognition accuracy.

To access Train Voice Recognition:

Entune Audio

  • Press SETUP button
  • Touch “Voice”
  • Touch “Train Voice Recognition”
  • Touch “Start”
  • Speak the ten commands so the Entune system can adjust recognition to your voice

Entune Audio Plus Systems, Entune Premium Audio, Entune Premium JBL® Audio

  • Press APPS button
  • Touch “Setup”
  • Touch “Voice”
  • Touch “Train Voice Recognition”
  • Touch “Start”
  • Follow the on-screen instructions and speak the ten commands so the Entune system can adjust recognition to your voice

2. If you need help in understanding how voice recognition works or would like to get useful tips, you can use the available Voice Recognition Tutorial.

This tutorial provides animated images with voice instructions to help you understand the basics of Entune voice recognition as well as some of the more advanced features.

To access Train Voice Recognition:

  • Press SETUP button
  • Touch “Voice”
  • Touch “Voice Recognition Tutorial” (you may have to scroll down on the screen to see Voice Recognition Tutorial)
  • Select one of the Voice Recognition Tutorial choices such as Introduction or Making Calls

Entune Audio Plus Systems, Entune Premium Audio, Entune Premium JBL® Audio

  • Press APPS button
  • Touch “Setup”
  • Touch “Voice”

Customize multimedia and navigation preferences

Entune and the available navigation system allow you to:

1. Customize the number of radio presets shown.

Supported on all Entune multimedia systems.

Entune Audio

  • Press SETUP button
  • Touch “Audio”
  • Change number of radio presets from 36 to 30, 24, 18, 12 or 6

Entune Audio Plus Systems, Entune Premium Audio, Entune Premium JBL® Audio

  • Press APPS button
  • Touch “Setup”
  • Touch “Audio”
  • Change number of radio presets from 36 to 30, 24, 18, 12 or 6

2. Customize system language if you prefer Spanish or French.

Supported on all Entune multimedia systems.

To do this:

  • Touch “General”
  • Change language from English to Español or Francais

3. Customize the number of prompts you receive when using voice recognition.

You can reduce the amount of voice recognition prompts or eliminate them altogether.

Supported on all Entune multimedia systems.

  • Press SETUP button
  • Touch “Voice”
  • Change voice recognition prompts from High to Low or Off

  • Press APPS button
  • Touch “Setup”

  • Change voice recognition prompts from High to Low or Off

4. Customize how incoming calls are shown on your vehicle’s display touch-screen.

You can change the incoming call display from full screen to drop-down so that the incoming call does not completely cover the screen currently shown, such as navigation map.

Supported on all Entune multimedia systems; navigation map is only available on Entune Premium Audio and Entune Premium JBL® Audio.

To do this:

  • Press APPS button
  • Touch “Setup”
  • Touch “Phone Display Settings”
  • Change incoming call display from full screen to drop-down

5. Customize the home screen to view and access your favorite features on the same screen.

For example, view the navigation map and audio, including any available artist/song titles, on the same screen.

Supported on Entune Audio Plus systems, Entune Premium Audio, Entune Premium JBL® Audio; features that can be viewed on the home screen vary by vehicle and Entune multimedia system.

To do this:

  • Press APPS button
  • Touch “Setup”
  • Touch “Home Screen”
  • Select “Two Panel” or “Three Panel”
  • Select features you want to view in each panel
  • Select “OK” to save preference

6. Customize driver settings for Entune multimedia to your paired Bluetooth® phone.

If you share your vehicle with another driver, you can save your driver settings for Entune multimedia to your paired Bluetooth® phone so that your preferred settings such as audio presets, navigation and voice recognition training are recognized each time you get into the vehicle.

Supported on Entune Audio Plus systems, Entune Premium Audio, Entune Premium JBL® Audio.

To do this:

  • Press APPS button
  • Touch “Setup”
  • Touch “Driver”
  • Select “Enable This Feature”

7. Customize how the navigation map is displayed on your vehicle’s touch-screen to view freeway exit

Supported on Entune Premium and Entune Premium JBL® Audio; some map modes are only available when in navigation guidance to a destination.

To do this:

  • Press APPS button
  • Touch “Navigation”
  • Touch “Options” on top of map screen
  • Touch “Map Mode” to change how map is displayed

Register and set up your Entune® App Suite account

Only Entune Premium Audio and Entune Premium JBL® Audio include Entune® App Suite and Integrated Navigation. Entune Audio and Entune Audio Plus systems do not include Entune® App Suite or Integrated Navigation.

Is Entune® App Suite already installed?

Your Toyota vehicle may have come with Entune® App Suite pre-installed.

To confirm, press APPS on your Entune multimedia system. Tip: After pressing APPS, either use the right arrow on the bottom right or swipe to the next screen to see if the Entune® App Suite is installed.

Did you see any apps?

NO: If apps do not appear, proceed with this guide.

YES: If apps appear, proceed with this guide and skip STEP 4.

1. Download Entune® App Suite

  • Check your smartphone compatibility with Entune® App Suite.

    Most iPhone® and Android smartphones will work with Entune® App Suite.
  • Download the Toyota Entune® App Suite.

    Tip: Search for “Toyota Entune” in the Apple App StoreSM or Google Play App Store.

2. Sign up

  • Launch the Entune® App Suite.
  • Select “Sign Up” to register.

    You can also register online at www.myentune.com. Please have your VIN on hand.
  • Enter your name, email, password and VIN.

    Tip: You can also scan the VIN by selecting the camera icon and following the instructions.
  • Link third-party accounts.

    To use some apps, they must be linked to your account. After signing up, you will need to select apps you would like to link. Tip: Have login information for third-party accounts ready.

3. Pair your phone

  • Turn on Bluetooth® on your smartphone.
  • Access Bluetooth® on your head unit.

    Tip: You can find Bluetooth® by selecting the SETUP button on your vehicle home screen.
  • From your smartphone, within Bluetooth® settings, add your Toyota vehicle.
  • From your head unit, add your smartphone device.

4. Install

  • Once your smartphone is successfully paired, launch the Entune® App Suite from your smartphone.
  • Press the APPS button on your vehicle’s head unit.

    You will be prompted with a message reminding you that you will need a compatible smartphone connected via Bluetooth® in order to add applications. Select OK.
  • Select NOW to begin Entune® App Suite installation process. Follow the on-screen step-by-step process to complete installation.

5. Launch Entune® App Suite

  • Once Entune® App Suite is installed, select OK.
  • Press the APPS button on your vehicle’s head unit.

    Entune® App Suite will now be available.
