Toyota had another memorable Formula DRIFT season with three victories in eight events, earning the sixth straight Formula DRIFT manufacturer championship in 2019.

Fredric Aasbø was yet again close to another championship.
Fredric Aasbø was yet again close to another championship. For the seventh straight season, Aasbø ranked amongst the top two drivers in the final point standings. As the winningest driver in Formula DRIFT history, he added another victory in Atlanta and scored final round appearances in New Jersey and St. Louis. Aasbø went into the final race of the season at Irwindale Speedway in second place in the standings, but was unable to gain ground on the leader with a round of 16 finish.
Gushi also ended the season with an emotional win at his home track -- Irwindale Speedway.
While it was status quo for Aasbø, it was a return to winning form for fellow Toyota drivers Ryan Tuerck and Ken Gushi. Tuerck defeated Aasbø in the final at New Jersey’s Wall Stadium for his first win since 2015, while Gushi also ended the season with an emotional win at his home track -- Irwindale Speedway. It marked Gushi’s first win since 2005. Tuerck ended the season fifth in the standings, while Gushi’s victory in the season finale moved him up to 11th overall. Fellow Toyota driver Jhonnathan Castro ended the season with one of his best finishes of the year and was scored inside the top 20 in the final standings.
While it was status quo for Aasbø, it was a return to winning form for fellow Toyota drivers Ryan Tuerck and Ken Gushi.

After yet another exciting season, Toyota drivers look forward to the 2020 Formula DRIFT schedule with two new venues: Englishtown Raceway Park in New Jersey and Sonoma Raceway in California.
