Fredric Aasbo kicked off the 2020 Formula DRIFT season with a victory on Saturday, while Ryan Tuerck left St. Louis with the championship points lead after two consistent races to start the season.

It was a great race for the new-look Papadakis Racing on Saturday with the new two-car team with Aasbo and Tureck behind the wheel. The 2015 Formula DRIFT champion Aasbo was behind the new Toyota GR Supra and drove to the race win with Tuerck, in the Toyota Corolla Hatchback, close behind in second.
Ryan Tuerck is the series points leader after two events.
On Saturday, Tuerck had another strong run, along with Ken Gushi, aboard his new Toyota GR Supra. Gushi earned his first final eight finish of the season, while Tuerck drove his Corolla Hatchback to another podium finish, coming home in third.

With the strong performance in the first doubleheader of the season, Tuerck has driven to the points lead while Aasbo sits in fourth and Gushi in 12th. Jhonnathan Castro rounds out the Team Toyota contingent in 20th. 
 
The Formula DRIFT series returns on track from September 25-27 for another doubleheader in Monroe, Washington at Evergreen Speedway.
