Solid Run for Team Toyota in New Hampshire

Sunday, August 02, 2020, Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr. finish second and third at New Hampshire Motor SpeedwaySolid Run for Team Toyota in New Hampshire
Denny Hamlin and teammate Martin Truex Jr. Finished second and third in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Hamlin’s runner-up finish marks his 11th top-five finish of the 2020 Cup Series season.

Hamlin and race winner Brad Keselowski were the class of the field all day long, trading the lead for most of the 301 laps, with Hamlin leading 92 laps in the event. “We just kind of were second there to the 2 (Brad Keselowski). We could really do well on restarts and we were going back-and-forth,” Hamlin said. “Wow, that was some really, really good short track racing there. Hopefully the fans liked what they saw there with me and the 2 for most of the day. Some great side-by-side racing. We treated each other fair and it’s good that we got one-two out of it.”

Truex and the No. 19 team were solid all day long on the way to their podium finish. We could hang with them and we would fall consistently off the 2 (Brad Keselowski) and the 11 (Denny Hamlin). Third-best car and we finished third so all in all, a good day. Just have to find a little bit more. Just missed the balance a little bit today. Love coming up here to Loudon and this was a fun day.”

Erik Jones finished 24th, Daniel Suárez 26th, Christopher Bell 28th and Kyle Busch 38th, after his day ended early following a tire failure.

The NASCAR Cup Series heads to the Irish Hills and Michigan International Speedway for a weekend double header. Action begins on Saturday, August 8th at 4PM ET on NBCSN and can be heard on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
