The name of the game in Saturday afternoon’s NASCAR Xfinity race was survival, and Christopher Bell did just that.

Christopher Bell drove a smart and methodical to put himself in position on the final restart for the win on the inside of the front row. The Norman, Okla-native fought hard for the lead to ultimately cross the line in the third position. Bell described what it took to stay near the front in the closing laps, “It’s a lot of blocking and listening to your spotter. Speedway racing and especially defensive racing whenever you’re up front at speedways is my weakness.” Bell continued, “to get out of there with a top-four and be in the Dash-4-Cash next week is something I’m really proud of and that was what we had circled.

Teammates Brandon Jones finished 18th and Jeffrey Earnhardt 26th after being collected in separate incidents during the event.

The Xfinity Series heads to Dover International Speedway for Saturday afternoon action on May 4th, 2019.
