Christopher Bell came within a second of scoring his seventh NASCAR Xfinity Series victory of the 2019 season Saturday evening at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Bell gave a dominant performance for most of the 200-lap event leading a race high 154 laps (of 200), but unable to lockdown victory after Tyler Reddick stayed out and stretched fuel mileage to steal the victory.

September 14, 2019, Teammate Brandon Jones also showed strength with a third-place finish.

“It’s the second time this year that we got beat by circumstances. At Iowa we put on our tires when we needed to and some guys banked on a yellow coming out later and they got it and they beat us. Today, they just kind of did the opposite of us and won the race. Very, very disappointing,” Bell said

Teammate Brandon Jones also showed strength with a third-place finish. “It was fun today. It was slick. We had that spin there early on; it was on the edge like that for a while, but we were fastest when we were that edgy. We tightened it up a good bit during the race, and it slowed down just a little bit,” Jones described his day. “All-in-all, I wouldn’t want anyone else behind me in this battle we are getting ready to go into during the Playoffs.”

Both Bell and Jones head to the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs seeded first and ninth, respectively. The Playoffs kickoff next Friday night at Richmond Raceway.
