2020 NASCAR Xfinity Season – Burton Strong Early

Harrison Burton celebrates his first career win.2020 NASCAR Xfinity Season – Burton Strong Early
As the NASCAR Xfinity Series restarts, there is one word to describe Harrison Burton’s first four  events – impressive. The 19-year-old rookie driver for Joe Gibbs Racing has been outstanding in his first full-season in the series with top five finishes in each of the first four races of the year.
Harrison Burton leads the point standings.
Burton started the season with a runner-up effort at Daytona International Speedway and added his first career win at Auto Club Speedway just two events later. He leads the Xfinity Series point standings with an average finish of 2.5.

Burton’s teammates, Brandon Jones and Riley Herbst, have also shown strength early this season.
Brandon Jones scored Toyota’s 500th win at Phoenix Raceway.

Jones dominated the early portions of the Auto Club Speedway race – scoring the pole position and leading the first 73 (of 150) laps before a tire issue forced an unscheduled pit stop. He rebounded the very next race – taking the lead late from Kyle Busch and driving to his second career win at Phoenix Raceway. He also forever placed his name in the Toyota Racing history book by earning Toyota’s 500th NASCAR victory.

Riley Herbst has had a solid start to the year, with a career-best runner-up finish at Auto Club Speedway.

Rookie Herbst has also shown strength so far this season. Since experiencing trouble at Daytona, Herbst has scored three straight top 10 results – including a runner-up finish to his teammate Burton at Auto Club Speedway – and shown himself as a Playoff contender.

These three Toyota drivers, and the rest of the NASCAR Xfinity Series returns to the track May 19th at Darlington Raceway. The race will be shown on FS1 at 8pmEDT.
