After a late-race caution, Harrison Burton had an incredible restart and drove to victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) event at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday afternoon.

Burton had another solid race going. He drew the pole and settled in to the top five as his team made adjustments after the first stage break. Burton was running third when a late-race spin by Ryan Sieg brought out the caution. Burton’s pit crew did a great job and got the 19-year-old out second overall, and Burton proved to have the winning moves. He started from the outside line and took the lead at the stripe with one lap to go. He drove it around to the finish to score his second win of the season in just his 18th career start.

“I’m so excited. That’s so awesome,” said Burton. “I gave away the lead on the first restart in the same position and I didn’t really want to do that again. I knew the 9 (Noah Gragson) was going to drive in real deep and slide up so felt good about that. Proud of my guys, they worked on this thing so hard every run – made it better and better. What a day to get this Xfinity Supra to victory lane. They can keep on doubting this thing and we’re going to keep coming back.”

Burton has now scored top 10 finishes in his last 10 NXS events. He was joined in the top 10 by his Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) teammates Brandon Jones (eighth) and fellow rookie Riley Herbst (tenth).

The NXS completes their double header with a noon start tomorrow afternoon at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The top-15 finishers will be inverted, so Burton will begin the race from the 15th starting position.
