Tough Day for Toyota NXS Drivers
Tough Day for Team Toyota Xfinity Drivers at Pocono
Riley Herbst brought home a ninth-place finish after an eventful day at the Tricky Triangle. Herbst was turned by the No. 11 after making the pass off turn three towards the beginning of the final stage. Herbst suffered damage but was able to proceed. A late race caution gave the Las Vegas native the lucky dog and ultimately brought home a ninth-place finish.
After winning his first NASCAR Truck Series race, Brandon Jones entered the Xfinity race looking to double down on wins. Fate would have other plans, as he was turned off the tunnel turn on lap one of the event, thus ending his day before it could begin.
“You have to have a little give and take. It’s just early. It doesn’t take much when you get three-wide to get pushed around. But from my vantage point we got hit in the back, and that’s what it looks like to me as well there,” Jones said. “We just got to keep going. We had a really good positive. We won the truck race. I had high hopes for this race too. Toyota puts so much into our program. They do such a good job for us. Menards, everybody that supports us. We got two more cars in this race. Maybe they can get it done for us.”Brandon Jones
