Harrison Burton Leads Team Toyota in Xfinity Playoff Opener

Harrison Burton led the way for Team Toyota in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoff opener at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a ninth-place finish. Burton sits two points above the cut line with two races left in the first round of the series postseason.

“It was a tough one to say the least. We really weren’t good to start the race, but I feel like we got better and better as we went. It just wasn’t good enough,” Burton said. “If you give yourself a bad starting point at these places without practice, then you don’t have a chance to work up through it and you put yourself in a deficit. We were kind of fighting an uphill battle all night. Our DEX Imaging Toyota team gained some ground, but not enough.”
Harrion BurtonTeammates Brandon Jones and Riley Herbst finished 11th and 12th respectively, with Las Vegas Truck Series victor Austin Hill scored in 17th.
The Xfinity Series heads to Talladega Superspeedway for race two of the playoffs on Saturday October 3rd. Coverage begins at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN and can be heard on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
