Busch Takes Fifth Bow in 2019 Truck Series Season

May 17 2019 Kyle Busch Capture 5th NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series At Charlotte Motor SpeedwayBusch Takes Fifth Bow in 2019 Truck Series Season

At what is arguably one of his best tracks in a truck, Kyle Busch closed out his 2019 Truck Series campaign going undefeated in his fifth and final race this season at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

After starting from the eighth position, Busch jumped to the front of the field on Lap 5, going on to lead 102 laps (of 134) to capture his eighth career-series win at the 1.5-mile track.

Busch knew it took a total team effort to sweep each of his five races in the 2019 season.

“It takes a whole group effort and Rudy (Fugle, crew chief) and these guys are awesome at what they do and give me great pieces each and every time we come out here,” said Busch.

Tundra driver Brennan Poole captured a career-best second-place finish in his 10th Truck Series start while Toyota teammates Austin Hill (sixth), Todd Gilliland (seventh) and Anthony Alfredo (eighth) also finished in the top 10.

May 17 2019 NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series, Harrison Burton, finished eighth while Todd Gilliland was tenth.

“To run second tonight with a broken sway bar, I don’t really have much other to say than that,” said Poole. “Just incredible effort and we’re going to Texas in a couple of weeks, so I’m looking forward to going back and doing this again.”

The Truck Series takes a brief break before returning to action at Texas Motor Speedway on June 7.
