Led by Brandon Jones, Tundras had a strong showing under the lights at Chicagoland Speedway. With six Tundras inside the top-10 in Friday evening’s NASCAR Truck Series race, Jones finished runner-up in the 150-lap affair.

Happy with his second-place finish, Jones just needed more laps at the end of the race. “I don’t know if we could have done something else with pit strategies or not, but that’s why we had good pit position there,” Jones said. “We did learn a lot and that’s the most fun I’ve had in a truck race in a long time.”

Series regular Harrison Burton continued a string of strong finishes as of late with a fourth-place finish.

Series regular Harrison Burton continued a string of strong finishes as of late with a fourth-place finish. “All of the guys at KBM (Kyle Busch Motorsports) have been working their butts off, week in and week out. They are giving us really fast trucks. They are really fun to drive,” he said. The rookie driver knew that it would be a fight to get to the Playoffs, “We are fighting to get into the Playoffs. It is a lot of fun for a team to try and come back and get in the Playoffs. If we get in, they better watch out.”

Austin Hill who won his first-career pole finished fifth, Todd Gilliland sixth, Anthony Alfredo ninth and Dylan Lupton 10th.

The Truck Series will head to Kentucky Speedway on Thursday July 11, 2019.
