Good things come to those who wait, and good things came to Todd Gilliland on Saturday afternoon at Martinsville Speedway. The Toyota Racing development driver claimed his first-career NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series victory after holding off the competition in overtime. 
 
The 19-year old led 10 laps on his way to victory at the famed short track nestled in Southern Virginia.

“It feels amazing. This place is really hard to win at. This Mobil 1 Toyota Tundra is not as pretty as we hoped it would be when we crossed the start-finish line, but man, it looks even better with water and Gatorade on it.”

Toyota Playoff drivers Tyler Ankrum and Austin Hill fell victim to the short-track chaos and exited the race early after being collected in a mid-race incident. Ankrum and Hill finished 25th and 26th, respectively.
