Mother Nature Ends Kentucky Truck Race Early
Mother Nature had plans on Saturday evening and she let Kentucky Speedway know all about it. The NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series race ended early due to a severe thunderstorm. Austin Hill led Team Toyota with a fifth-place finish followed by Christian Eckes in sixth and Derek Kraus in eighth.
“Coming into tonight, we tried a different package than we have ever ran in the past. Last year, we struggled here at Kentucky, and in years past they have also struggled in Kentucky as well so. Coming in here we didn’t really know what we were going to have. We tried a total different setup with no practice. We just kind of swung for the fence. From my point, we were really good,” the Georgia native said. “I’m itching really bad for a win with how good our season has been and how good we are running each and every week. I know the wins will come. I just have to be patient. Just keep digging; keep fighting hard.”Austin Hill
