Raphael Lessard Wins First Career Truck Series Race at Talladega

Raphaël Lessard came into Saturday’s NASCAR Gander and RV Outdoors Truck Series race with only one superspeedway race under his belt. At the end of the day Lessard had two and his first-career Truck Series win in the 400th event for the Toyota Tundra in the Truck Series

Lessard found himself up front near the end of the race battling for the lead on the final lap of the race. The caution would come out as the field circled back to the checkered flag with the young Kyle Busch Motorsports driver out front thus declaring him the winner of the event.
“I don’t know who was behind me, but he gave me a heck of a push and I can’t thank him enough because he’s part of that win too,” an excited Lessard said at the start/finish line. “He pushed me as hard as he could and I was just holding on for the ride. Then the caution came out at the right time. I’m so happy. This was my first time doing a burnout from a race win and I loved it. Hopefully we can do it some more.”
Raphaël LessardPlayoff driver Christian Eckes was among those who were involved in the wreck on the final lap and ended the race just below the Playoff cut line. Austin Hill was already locked in the Round of Eight with his win at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The NASCAR Truck Series will pay a visit to Kansas Speedway on Saturday October 17th. Coverage begins at 4:00 p.m. ET on FS1 and can be heard on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM NASCAR Radio
