They Said It

Martin Truex Jr. earned his fourth win of the season at Sonoma They Said It

Martin Truex Jr. earned his fourth win of the season at Sonoma Raceway’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 on Sunday. It was Truex’s second-straight Sonoma win and 23rd Cup Series victory of his career.

Matt DiBenedetto enjoyed a career day at Sonoma, scoring his first top-five finish in NASCAR’s top series. The Northern California-native drove through the field from his 19th starting spot to finish fourth, which also tied the best finish for his team, Leavine Family Racing.

After three second-place finishes this season, 16-year-old Ty Gibbs broke through and earned his first career ARCA Menards Series win at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway on Saturday evening. Gibbs dominated stretches of the event before late-race strategy came into play, leaving Gibbs to charge from eighth to first on the final restart in just three laps to score the win.

Hailie Deegan had a strong outing at Sonoma Raceway in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West event on Saturday. Deegan posted the quickest lap over many current NASCAR Cup and Xfinity drivers to earn her second pole position of the season. Deegan finished the race in eighth as she closed the championship points battle, just one point behind her Toyota teammate Derek Kraus.
