In a star-studded evening, Joe Gibbs was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame this year, becoming the first person to earn both NASCAR and Pro Football’s highest achievement. Former President George W. Bush provided a video tribute, with current drivers Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin introducing Gibbs. Following the video tribute, Joe’s son, Coy, placed the ring on his father’s finger, officially making him a part of the five-member 2020 Hall of Fame class.

“God has chosen some very average people, and he’s blessed them with some of the greatest experiences man can create,” said the forever humble Gibbs. “I’m one of those.”

Joe Gibbs and his team, Joe Gibbs Racing, have been incredible partners with Toyota since 2008. Joe Gibbs Racing driver Kyle Busch gave Toyota its first Cup Series win at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2008 and once again hoisted the series trophy most recently in November.

“We have Toyota – it’s just a special relationship there,” said Gibbs. “Not only a working relationship, but friendships.”

Gibbs was inducted in the Hall of Fame with over 170 Cup Series wins and five championships. The induction came after a season filled with highlights including an emotional Daytona 500 win with Denny Hamlin, his fifth Cup Series Championship with Kyle Busch and a record-breaking 19 race wins.
