Former Funny Car World Champion, Todd, plans to add to impressive Funny Car stats
J.R. Todd made history in 2018 when he bested the competition to become the first African-American driver to win an NHRA Funny Car championship. Entering the 2020 season, he has eight career NHRA Nitro victories and is one of only 17 drivers to earn both Funny Car and Top Fuel wins.

- 2019: Todd earned his third straight Las Vegas win in April and scored three runner-up finishes on his way to a seventh-place finish in the point standings.
- 2018: Won first career NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Funny Car championship with a career-best six race victories – becoming the first African-American Funny Car champion.
- 2017: Advanced to the NHRA Countdown to the Championship for the fifth time in his career and won two events at Sonoma and the prestigious U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis.
