Explore Jordyn's story below.
December 28, 1998
Born in Hawaii, Jordyn grew up surfing, swimming, paddling and cave diving. It wasn’t until she was 11 that she was introduced to skateboarding. And from that day on, she was hooked. Today, she competes as a member of the U.S. National Team and is working toward becoming one of the first females to skate at the Olympic Games for Team USA.
Being herself has made Jordyn one of the most-exciting young skaters on the scene today. She started making waves after her undeniable performance during the 2016 X Games—an event she qualified for at the last minute. It felt like fate. After that moment, Jordyn knew she wanted to take skateboarding to the next level, and she began preparing for Tokyo. But the road hasn’t been easy. On top of her shoulder injury, Jordyn has to overcome the obstacle of being a woman in a male-dominated sport. She hopes to inspire others by showing when you do what you love, you will be happy and to be yourself—no matter what others think or say about you.
“I just did a West Coast road trip that was amazing and perfect with my Tacoma. I’d love to do more road trips like that soon!”
“It’s really fun to drive, especially driving it stick shift. And I can pile in all of my friends and put our surfboards, skateboards and snowboards in the back!”
The 2021 Tacoma makes your off-road, off-grid adventures possible. Built from the same tough material that’s made Toyota trucks legendary, Tacoma brings capability, tech and confidence to your outdoor adventures. So gear up, get in and get ready to start your next epic adventure.
