Simone’s Olympic Journey

Growing up in Texas, Simone joined her local swim team when she was five years old. At age nine, she attended a swim clinic where an Olympian let her take a picture with their Olympic medal. Seeing the medal sparked her desire to compete professionally and in 2016, she made the U.S. Olympic Team.

It seemed like an impossible task, but I never felt like giving up was an option.
Road to Tokyo
Simone doesn’t set boundaries for herself. She doesn’t believe certain people fit in certain boxes. She believes it’s important for all of us to dismantle stereotypes, biases and preconceived notions because all these ideas limit the possibilities of what we’re capable of. Though her journey has been an uphill battle, it all came together when Simone made the U.S. Olympic Team and stood on the podium for Team USA. Driven with purpose, Simone is ready for Tokyo and hopes to use her platform to inspire other girls just like her to dream big, dream bold and dream beyond the confines of what society feels someone or something should be.
