The Nature Conservancy’s Leaders in Environmental Action for the Future (LEAF)
The recent grant from the Toyota U.S.A Foundation funds The Nature Conservancy’s LEAF, a program that provides paid summer internships for high school students.
The program also helps educators from environmental high schools share best practices and scientific resources.
The Toyota USA Foundation grant will allow The Nature Conservancy to expand LEAF and enhance the program, replicating it in key cities across the United States. LEAF will establish the first nationwide network for environmental high schools and provide more students across the U.S. with real world, paid summer internships in the conservation field.
LEAF will also provide online experiences (such as Webinars, blogs and online tools) and selected conferences and meetings for teachers to develop and disseminate best practices and tools for secondary environmental education.
