Calty Design Research, Inc.

To build an American best seller, it helps to know what the people in the community want. So, for nearly 40 years, we've employed local talent to help us discover exactly that. At Toyota's Calty Design Research Facilities in California and Michigan, we've gathered some of the brightest minds in the business. From concept to competition vehicles, each team member is as brilliant as the vehicles they design.

Calty provides design solutions for Toyota, Lexus and Scion product development, and supports North American production design, including color and trim. Activities include research, advanced design, competitive design, production design, and philanthropic outreach. Calty has contributed exterior styling for production models such as the ‘07 FJ Cruiser, ‘08 Scion xB, ‘09 Venza, ‘11 Sienna, ‘13 Avalon, and ‘11 Scion tC and '13 Lexus GS Interior, and created the concept vehicles FT-SX, Scion t2B, Scion FUSE, FT-HS, A-BAT, Lexus LF-Ch and Lexus LF-LC.
