When Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. was established in 1957 with a single dealership in Hollywood, CA, who would have imagined the scale of our North American operations today? (We only sold 288 vehicles in 1958: 287 Toyopet Crown sedans and one Land Cruiser.)
In 1984, we entered a joint venture to manufacture vehicles right here in the U.S.A.—and by 2021, we celebrated our 30 millionth U.S.-assembled vehicle rolling off the production line.
Of course, we’re proud of our successes and the milestones passed on our American journey. But today, we’re looking ahead, focused on a sustainable future, creating mobility for all, and contributing to the communities where we live and work.
