Audubon
In 2008, Toyota and the National Audubon Society launched TogetherGreen. A $20 million Toyota grant will fund TogetherGreen for five years.
TogetherGreen has three major components:
LeadGreen
A Conservation Fellowship program to recognize and nurture the environmental
leaders of tomorrow
GrowGreen
Innovation Grants to support creative projects that contribute to significant
gains in habitat,
water and energy conservation
GoGreen
Volunteer projects at sites across the country to create a call to action for
real conservation impact in diverse communities
Also, the interactive TogetherGreen
website encourages people of all ages to take action and become involved.
View videos of Toyota associates volunteering in Brooklyn,
New York; San
Antonio, Texas;
and Los
Angeles, California and visit TogetherGreen
to find out how to get involved.
TogetherGreen is the latest program in a long relationship between Toyota and
Audubon. Previously, Toyota established the Toyota Endowment Fund for Environmental
Education. In Brooklyn, New York, the Fund provided a $1 million grant for programs
at the Prospect Park Audubon Center. In Los Angeles, an additional $1 million
gift from Toyota supported an urban
Audubon Center in Debs Park.
