Prius Plug-in Hybrid Advanced Model Only

For 2012, Entune™ [5] functionality is enhanced with the introduction of Prius Plug-in Hybrid Apps [12] (Advanced model only). Now it’s possible to control many of your Prius Plug-in Advanced vehicle’s functions remotely from your smartphone [13].

You can view your Prius Plug-in Advanced vehicle’s fuel economy, and manage charging and other features quickly and conveniently from your home, office, or anywhere [13]. All it takes is a compatible Apple® or Android™ smartphone with the Prius Plug-in Hybrid Apps [12] installed and paired to your Prius Plug-in Advanced.

How it Works:

There are five Plug-in Hybrid Apps [12] which are downloaded and installed on your smartphone within the Entune™ App available from iTunes® and the Android™ Market. Plug-in Hybrid Apps include:

Charge Management [16]
Charging Station Map
ECO Dashboard
Remote Climate [14]
Vehicle Finder [15]

Additionally, there is a Charging Station Map App available on the Prius Plug-in Advanced multimedia system.

Outside of Vehicle

Using Safety Connect® [13] technology, which employs GPS and cellular connectivity on a secure Toyota wireless network, the Plug-in Apps communicate with the vehicle to activate specific Prius Plug-in Advanced features. For more information on Safety Connect® [13], click here.

In Vehicle

Within the vehicle, using Bluetooth® [3] wireless technology, the Charging Station Map installed on the multimedia system is used to find nearby charging stations using the built in navigation system.

With the new Plug-in Hybrid Apps [12], you’ll know where you parked your Prius Plug-in Advanced, or where to find the closest charging station location for your Prius.*

In addition, you can remotely charge your vehicle [16] and compare your fuel economy * and scores if you are one of the top 10 ECO dashboard performers with other high-scorers.

These new features add to the already comprehensive Entune™ suite of applications to make owning your Prius Plug-in Advanced even more enjoyable.

Prius Plug-in Advanced owners will have access to Plug-in Applications within Entune™. Customers will use the existing Entune™ registration site to sign up for three years of complimentary Plug-in Apps, which begins on the date you purchase the vehicle. After the included trial, Plug-in Apps are available to customers at no charge who subscribe to Safety Connect® [13] ($139.95/ yr). [17]
