Audubon
Audubon provides unique opportunities for inner-city children and their families to learn about the environment through exciting hands-on involvement. In support of Audubon Nature Centers, we've established the Toyota Endowment Fund for Environmental Education in two of the nation's most densely populated neighborhoods.
In Brooklyn, NY, this fund provides a $1 million grant for programs at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the organization's first nature center in the country. Nestled in a beautifully restored historic 1905 Boathouse, the facility now has modern interactive exhibits and teaching facilities, plus a networked computer lab.
In Los Angeles, CA, this fund provides a $1 million grant to support the Audubon Center in Debs Park, located on 282 acres of urban wilderness in East LA. Geared towards serving the area's large Latino population, educational programs are offered in both English and Spanish.
