In contrast, the Hyundai Elantra’s standard 2.0-liter gas engine generates 147 horsepower and 132 lb.-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm.
  • Both the Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Elantra are also available with a hybrid engine configuration. The Toyota Corolla Hybrid comes with a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine, paired with a single electric motor, to generate 138 horsepower and 105 lb.-feet of torque. The Hyundai Elantra Hybrid comes with a 1.6L GDI engine that generates 104 horsepower and 109 lb.-feet of torque.
  • Both the Corolla and Elantra are only available in front-wheel drive. However, those who want AWD can opt for the Corolla Hybrid, which is available with Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD). The Hybrid Elantra does not have all-wheel drive on any model.
  • The Corolla comes with a Dynamic-Shift CVT, which blends the immediate response of a fixed first gear and the efficiency of a CVT.
